Karu Dojo is Japan karate-do TAKAMI KARATE Sri Lanka Branch. TAKAMI Dojo was established in 1979 under the order from Mas Oyama. Instructer Shihan Karu (J.L.N Karunarathna) is a black belt holder, he has more than 20 years of experience in martial arts.
We provide Japan Karate-do curriculum under TAKAMI KARATE guidance for adults and children in three dojos in Sri lanka.

Karu Dojo Shihan
Born in 1978.
From 1992- 2001, he learned karate under Sensei Sirilal Abeykoon - Kyokushin KaiKan. From 2001-2004, under Shihan Palitha Galappaththi. From 2004 - 2015 Under Shihan Lakmal Fonseka.
In 2016, he learned TAKAMI KARATE in Japan under Saiko hanshi Akira Takami as an uchideshi (live-in student).

Up to GCE A/L, Diploma in Physical Fitness and health education
Major accomplishments:
2001 3rd place, All island Full contact karate tournament - open weight
2010 Asian Champion, Baykeren karate open tournament - light weight
2011 2nd place, Shidokan all island open tournament - open weight
- Won 2nd and 3rd place from many provincial full contact open tournaments.
- Participated for Asian Full contact open tournament held in Pakistan by Shidokan.

Born in 1969.
From 1986- 1995, Shihandai Jayasiri learned karate under Sensei Sirilal Abeykoon - Kyokushin KaiKan. From 2004 - 2015 Under Shihan Lakmal Fonseka. In 2016, he learned TAKAMI KARATE in Japan with Shihan Karu.
